Itinerary
Upon arrival at Cochin International Airport or Ernakulam Railway Station, you will be greeted by our tour representative who will assist with your transfer to Munnar – one of the most beautiful hill stations in Kerala, often called the "Kashmir of South India." The road to Munnar offers scenic landscapes adorned with lush greenery, rubber plantations, small waterfalls, and spice gardens.
On your way to Munnar, take short halts to enjoy the panoramic beauty of the Valara and Cheeyappara waterfalls cascading down the rocky slopes surrounded by dense forests. The aroma of fresh cardamom and pepper plantations wafts through the air as you ascend the hills.
As you reach Munnar, check into the pre-booked hotel or resort. The rest of the evening is free for leisure. You may choose to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings or take a short walk in the nearby tea gardens.
Enjoy a warm dinner at the hotel and retire early for a restful night.
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, set out for a full day of local sightseeing in and around Munnar. The cool breeze, mist-covered tea plantations, and picturesque surroundings make every moment of the journey unforgettable.
Your sightseeing will start with a visit to Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Take a park bus ride through the misty hills and admire the vast expanse of rolling tea gardens. The walk inside the park gives a panoramic view of Munnar from a higher altitude.
Next, proceed to the Tea Museum by Tata Tea, where you will get insights into the history of tea production and processing. You’ll also witness live demonstrations of how tea is sorted and graded.
Then head towards the Mattupetty Dam, a beautiful spot ideal for boating. The dam and lake are surrounded by hills and forest areas and are frequented by elephants.
Visit the Echo Point, famous for its natural echo phenomenon, and then move to Kundala Lake, a calm, picturesque lake ideal for pedal boating and horse riding. Continue to Blossom Hydel Park, which is a family-friendly garden space, especially perfect for children and couples.
In the evening, you may explore the local market for some handmade chocolates, spices, and souvenirs.
Return to your hotel for dinner and unwind with the mountain mist wrapping around you.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive towards Thekkady, a town known for its dense forests, spice plantations, and wildlife. The road between Munnar and Thekkady takes you through winding hills, aromatic spice gardens, and charming countryside.
Upon reaching Thekkady, check in to your hotel or resort. Freshen up and proceed for sightseeing. Begin with a boat ride at Periyar Lake, located inside Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the most renowned reserves in India. While boating, you might spot elephants, bison, deer, and a variety of bird species in their natural habitat.
Next, take a tour of a spice plantation, where an expert guide will walk you through the farms cultivating cardamom, pepper, cloves, vanilla, and cinnamon. Learn about the farming, harvesting, and processing of these spices.
In the afternoon, you can opt for adventure activities such as bamboo rafting, elephant rides, or Kathakali/Kalaripayattu cultural shows that are performed at local theatres during the evening.
Stroll through the local market of Thekkady, well-known for high-quality spices and herbal products.
Return to the hotel for a delightful dinner and a peaceful night surrounded by nature.
After breakfast and check-out, begin your scenic drive to Alleppey – the Venice of the East. This place is famous for its network of backwaters, houseboat cruises, and traditional Kerala-style houseboats known as Kettuvallams.
On arrival in Alleppey, experience a magical day cruise in a houseboat (or opt for a few hours cruise if time is limited). Glide through the calm backwaters as you pass by paddy fields, coconut groves, and small villages, witnessing rural life in Kerala up close. You will be served fresh, traditional Kerala lunch onboard featuring dishes like sambar, thoran, fish curry, and more.
Relax on the sundeck or enjoy the view from the cozy interiors of the houseboat as the boat sails through narrow canals and wide lakes. The Alleppey backwaters offer some of the most peaceful and picturesque sights in all of Kerala.
After your houseboat cruise, we will proceed toward Cochin for your drop at the airport or railway station as per your departure schedule.
With your heart filled with memories of serene hill stations, thrilling wildlife experiences, and tranquil backwaters, your 3 Nights 4 Days Kerala trip concludes here.
